Glenmorgan is a tiny community located in the western downs region of Queensland. Once known as “the end of the line”, Glenmorgan was the terminus for a branch line running west from Dalby. It was a bustling agricultural community, serviced weekly by grain, goods and passenger trains. Glenmorgan flourished and grew into a sizable community. Sadly, as road transport overtook rail as the preferred method of transport, Glenmorgan’s rail services declined and eventually closed. With the railway gone, the Glenmorgan community rapidly dwindled. Today, the town has only basic facilities, including a general store, school and a pub. Its main attraction is the Myall Park Botanic Garden, Queensland’s oldest collection of semi-arid plants. The garden is internationally recognised and attracts many visitors, including botanists, gardeners, bird watchers, photographers, artists and bush walkers. A remote community, Glenmorgan offers a quiet and laid-back country lifestyle. Population: Nominal Queensland Health facilities in District: 19
