Miles is a small country town located in the heart of the western downs region of Queensland. It is the administrative and commercial centre for the Murilla Shire, ideally situated on the crossroads of the Warrego and Leichhardt Highways. Originally named “Dogwood Crossing” after a nearby creek, Miles is now referred to as the “crossroads of the golden west” and is a popular resting place for travellers. Miles supports a diverse array of industries, including dairying, fruit growing, wheat, sheep, cattle, timber and bentonite clay mining. Located in the centre of a native wildflower region, Miles offers a relaxed country lifestyle with good amenities in scenic surroundings.
