The new Leadership Program for executives (clinical and non-clinical), managers and supervisors to be themed “Inspiring Leaders” will begin in May 2006 with the first residential workshop for executives.
The workshops aim to increase awareness, strengthen skills and broaden thinking about leadership. The workshops will use experiential learning and will include small group problem solving, scenarios and role playing.
The Leadership Program will also include assessment of leadership capability through 360 degree feedback, executive coaching for clinical and non-clinical executives, the development of web-based support for leaders and new training modules which will be specifically developed for leaders who work in a health setting and available for delivery both on-line and face to face.
Executive leaders will attend workshops during May to September 2006, with the program being rolled out for all managers and supervisors from September 2006. Consultants with National and International health related experience have been engaged to facilitate the workshops.
At the completion of the first two years of the program, it is estimated that approximately 300 to 400 Queensland Health Executives and Senior Clinicians, and over 4300 Managers and Supervisors will be participating in leadership development activities.
