Apply for Location Certificates

The Health Insurance Corporation (HIC) has established an Australia wide facility for the complete health sector in Australia based on the use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).  The Commonwealth Government require Gatekeeper Accreditation for PKI facilities and the HIC have complied with the rigorous inspection processes of Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) and the Australian Government Solicitor (AGS).

The HIC have established Health eSignature Authority Pty Ltd (HeSA) as a stand alone organisation to act as a Registration Authority for this process. In a PKI environment the Registration Authority acts for for the Certification Authority that actually issues the PKI Keys and Certificates.

You are able to apply for PKI Location Certificates online through the HeSA web site at: http://www.hesa.com.au/apply.htm. Alternatively, you can obtain a paper-based registration pack from the HeSA Helpdesk (1300 660 035).
