This guideline details how to access the S8 Online secure site from a Pharmacy workstation.
The Schedule 8 Online secure web site can be accessed by authorised Pharmacists who have installed the required location keys and certificates on the workstation being used to transmit S8 data. There are several methods to access the site:
By double clicking on a previously setup Desktop Shortcut.
By selecting a previously setup Favourite (IE) or Bookmark (Netscape) in your browser.
By entering the S8 Online URL into the Address bar of your browser.
By selecting the login link in the right hand panel of S8 Online pages of this site.
To setup a Desktop Shortcut
Right mouse click on the following URL: https://s8online.health.qld.gov.au
From the floating men, select Copy Shortcut.
Right mouse click on your Desktop.
From the floating menu, select Paste Shortcut.
Note: You can also point at the URL and drag it to your Desktop.
The shortcut is added. If required, you can shorten the name to S8 Online (or similar).
You can double click on this shortcut whenever you need to access S8 Online. The S8 Online Home page opens and you can select the File Upload option to upload your S8 data.
To enter the S8 URL into the Address bar
Open your browser.
In the Address bar, enter
https://s8online.health.qld.gov.au
Note: Ensure you enter https, (not http). The s indicates
the site is secured via SSL.
Click on Go or press the Enter key.
The S8 Online Home page opens and you can select the S8 File Upload option to upload your S8 data.
After you have accessed the site for the first time, it is recommended that you add the URL to the Bookmarks or Favourites list of your browser, or as a shortcut to your Desktop.
To access S8 Online from this web site
Open your browser.
Go to the STS Internet site at
http://www.health.qld.gov.au/wwwsts/
Alternatively, you can go to the Queensland Health Internet main page and
navigate through the Health Professional links to the STS site. (Although
this process may require some searching.)
From the STS site, select the Schedule8 Online option.
Select the Login to S8 Online link from the right hand panel of any S8 Online page.
