Personal eHealth records

Personal eHealth records

Personal eHealth records allow individuals to manage their own health record online, as well as give their GP or other healthcare providers access to their information. They can also control which information they share this way.

The Commonwealth Government manages personal eHealth records through the My Health Record system (previously known as the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record system). The national myhealthrecord.gov.au website provides information about the records and how to register to access the system for healthcare providers as well as individuals.

Call the national eHealth helpline on 1800723471 or visit www.myhealthrecord.gov.au for further information in relation to this initiative.

National solutions / infrastructure

Queensland Health actively participates in national digital health and leverages national infrastructure where possible. For example the national health service directory, the healthcare identifiers service and that national authentication service for health.
