Occupational Therapy - Cairns urban community health services

Occupational Therapy (OT) services predominantly involve performing individualised functional assessments and interventions to maximise safety and independence. Interventions include use of compensatory techniques such as housing modifications, or equipment prescription; goal orientated and time limited rehabilitation as well as education. The occupational therapy service endeavours to collaborate with other service providers in order to reduce the need for the client to undergo multiple clinical assessments from multiple health care professionals.
