Cairns Community Rehabilitation Team (CCRT)

Overview

The Cairns Community Rehabilitation Team (CCRT) provides rehabilitation services. These services are provided to people who have had a recent health event or injury that impact their ability to do normal, everyday activities

The CCRT team includes:

  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech Pathologist
  • Community Rehabilitation Assistants
  • Nurses
  • Social Workers
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers

This is a free service and operates Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Closed public holidays.

What can I expect?

At your first appointment you will meet with one of the team to talk about:

  • your health and level of ability
  • what you would like to get out of rehabilitation (your goals), and
  • what we can do to help you meet these goals

 Following a formal assessment process you will be provided with a therapy program. This program is designed to suit you needs and achieve your goals within a specified time.

 Your therapy program may be:

  • community or home based
  • provided individually or in a group

Who is eligible?

Adults who have relevant rehabilitation goals, and live in the Cairns area (within the boundaries of Fishery Falls, Ellis Beach and Kuranda).

Do I need a referral?

Referrals from your doctor or health professional are preferred. Print the referral form and ask your doctor or health professional to complete. You are able to refer yourself to the CCRT by calling ph: +61 7 4226 4550.
