Rural Doctors Upskilling Program (RDUP)

Queensland requires an appropriately skilled and distributed medical practitioner workforce to meet the primary health care needs of our community, particularly with respect to the delivery of public and community health programs and procedural work in regional, rural and remote hospitals.

Since 2017, the Rural Doctors Upskilling Program has facilitated greater access to training within the Queensland public sector for regional and rural General Practitioners and Rural Generalists to undertake upskilling in a new special interest skill or to maintain their current advanced or specialised skillsets, in order to serve the regional, rural and remote communities in which they practice.

Applications for the RDUP are currently closed.
