State-Wide Arbovirus Response and Mosquito Management System (SWARMMS)
The Queensland Health Communicable Diseases Branch, in partnership with Local Government and Public Health Units, has established a state-wide surveillance and control ICT solution to support the management of mosquitoes that pose public health risks to Queensland residents. The new system is the State-Wide Arbovirus Response and Mosquito Management System (SWARMMS).
SWARMMS is a cloud-based interactive system with the capability to upload and store mosquito surveillance and control data and provide spatial mapping. It can produce real-time reports to inform critical decision making to enhance the response to outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases and the detection of exotic mosquitoes.
SWARMMS will support mosquito surveillance and control activity by both Queensland Health and Local Government, and provide a shared platform for collaborative mosquito management
Online training
Training modules have been developed by RapidMap Global Pty Ltd, the supplier of SWARMMS, which demonstrate the three ways to access SWARMMS. These training modules are currently accessible to all users via an online training platform and can be completed at the preferred pace of the user, and at a time that is convenient for them.
Watch the short video below to learn more about SWARMMS, and how it can support mosquito management.
