Graeme loves health and savings benefits of being smoke-free

15 November 2018

Retired miner Graeme Martin is a success story highlighted in The health of Queenslanders 2018 – Report of the Chief Health Officer Queensland, sharing his story of giving up smoking after 50 years.

Graeme is enjoying a smoke-free lifestyle after successfully quitting with support from Quitline and using nicotine replacement therapy.

He was motivated to stop smoking when he saw the 10,000 Lives Central Queensland launch on television, and said Quitline had helped him to approach quitting with a plan and a positive frame of mind.

Graeme recently celebrated his 66th birthday, using the money he saved by not smoking to take his dream holiday, riding Route 66 in the USA on a Harley Davidson.
