Strategic Committees and Clinical Networks

We are calling for patients, carers and health consumers (past or present) in the Central Queensland region to be involved in our strategic committees and clinical networks.

These committees can be held once a month or sometimes quarterly (four times a year), all committees can support you to participate by phone or video conference. Any consumer of our services in Central Queensland can apply. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive health consumer representation, reflective of our community.

These roles require the valuable input of a formal health consumer representative, this means you will be offered to claim a participation fee and any approved out-of-pocket expenses.

You will need to volunteer a few hours of your time each month for reading and committee work.

Health consumer representatives have a unique and essential role in our health service. Without our health consumer representatives there is often no-one on a committee who can represent a non-medical person and, in many cases, a broader community perspective. The health consumer has an important role in consumer and community engagement and will assist the health service with service planning and decision-making.

You will not be required to have any specialist skills or health knowledge - let us focus on this.

Do I have the skills?

  • Have you been a consumer or carer in any service provided by CQ Health?
  • Would you be able to represent yourself as a consumer or carer?
  • Would you be able to work in a team and have the confidence to speak in a group to get your views across?
  • Would you be available to volunteer several hours of your time?
  • Would you be able to commit to meeting as a committee once a month?
  • Would you be happy to receive support throughout your involvement?

If yes, we need you!
