This two day face to face training is a great opportunity for those that have been providing supervision for a number of years and for those that have already undertaken foundational supervisor training. This training builds on the foundational supervisor training and aims to enhance advanced skills required to deal with complex supervisory situations. Topics covered in this workshop will include strategies for effective supervision, managing challenging supervisory situations and behaviours, teaching styles, inter-generational supervision, telesupervision and supervision across different contexts.
Please note that this training relates to professional/clinical supervision and NOT operational management.
This advanced level training will provide participants with the skills necessary to deal with a range of complex supervisory situations. By the end of the training, you will be able to:
review elements essential for supervision
outline best practice supervision principles based on research evidence
discuss management of challenging supervisory situations
learn about principles of effective teaching
consider generational issues in supervision
identify best practice principles in telesupervision (or distance supervision)
reflect on supervision across contexts and how to make it effective
It is recommended that you have previously completed the Cunningham Centre Supervisor training or equivalent, and have experience in supervising staff.
You will be issued with a Statement of Attendance after completing all required sessions.
Participation in this professional development activity may contribute to continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for the purposes of registration and/or professional association membership. Please refer to the specific CPD requirements of your registration board and/or professional association to confirm.
