A project to restore the roof at Stanthorpe Hospital is moving into a new phase this week.
Stanthorpe Hospital Director of Nursing Pauline Maude said the project was progressing well.
"Works to re-roof the main hospital building and walkway to the Western Annexe are almost complete," Ms Maude said.
"On Monday this week scaffolding went up to allow for re-roofing works on the Western Annexe.
"From next Monday 22 October there will be some changes to access to the Western Annexe, for a period expected to be around two weeks, but signage will be in place to guide patients and visitors.
"Maternity services will still be available, however to allow for works to progress safely we will be temporarily relocating maternity to another area of the Western Annexe during this time."
Ms Maude said the patience shown by the community during the works was greatly appreciated.
"There have been some temporary changes to access during the project and I would like to thank our patients, visitors and staff for their understanding," she said.
"So far the results are looking excellent, with the historic character of the hospital being retained, while utilising modern materials and building techniques.
"We are looking forward to the completion of the project towards the end of the year."
