Early works

In an exciting project milestone, early works for the new Toowoomba Hospital have now started.  Services at the Baillie Henderson campus will remain open while works are underway.

You'll still be able to park on site while visiting our campus.  The carpark closest to the worksite will close in May 2024.  Before it closes, more carparking will be constructed across the campus.

In late April/early May 2024, Burnview Avenue (from Nicoll Avenue to Mort Street) will close to maintain a safe worksite. Signed detours will be in place to guide road users.

Footpath and bike entry will be through the Tor Street entrance.

Overview

The new $1.3 billion Toowoomba Hospital announced as part of the 2022/23 State Budget will be constructed over five years and is expected to open in the second half of 2027.

The vision for the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus will be an unrivalled health and knowledge precinct experience, centred around the new Toowoomba Hospital. The strikingly beautiful 75 hectare campus includes tree-lined spaces interconnected between heritage buildings, multidisciplinary health services, research, education, commercial, and community recreation spaces.

When completed the Toowoomba Hospital will deliver new and expanded health care services to the region to cater to its growing population.

Construction of the new hospital will deliver around 3,127 construction jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

The hospital is currently under design and early enabling works commenced in August 2022 and are nearing completion.
