Digital Hospital Program

The Toowoomba Hospital is going digital and transforming the way we provide care. The Digital Hospital Program connects patients, clinicians and health services with fully integrated care. Becoming a Digital Hospital means that we will be able to:

  • Make patient records available electronically – so you won’t have to repeat your history at every visit
  • Provide faster and easier access to your information
  • Provide immediate access to your clinical team to comprehensive, personalised plans of care for your treatment.

The first stage of going digital is an integrated electronic medical record program that will see our clinicians documenting directly into your secure electronic medical record. Your information is safe, only authorised Queensland Health hospital staff can access your secure electronic medical record. Your records are protected by strict legislation and built-in security measures.

Transfer from Toowoomba Hospital during infrastructure works

To prepare for this hospital-shaping project, we will need to complete infrastructure works to get ready.

If you need emergency treatment, you will still present to the Toowoomba Hospital on Pechey Street. During your stay and for ongoing care, you may be transferred to Medical Unit 5 or Rehabilitation at the proposed new Toowoomba Hospital site (at the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus).

Our team will make sure to talk to you about what this means for you so you can tell family and friends where they can visit you.
