Working for Queensland Health

We’re responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland. We have 16 hospital and health services (HHS) areas and each HHS includes a group of hospitals or health care facilities. Check out our interactive map to see our different hospital and health services areas.

We strongly believe in working with people that value the goals of our organisation and who will thrive in our workplace.

Our work environment places high value on employees and quality patient care. Delivering a health service that focuses on patients and people. Placing them at the heart of everything we do.

Our vision for Queensland’s healthcare system is a skilled and empowered workforce that meets the needs of our community and quality healthcare that Queenslanders value.

Our recruitment process assesses candidates for both organisation fit and role fit.

Our staff are motivated, professional people with great skills who embrace our success factors of:

  • Connectedness
  • Performance
  • Clarity
  • Respect
  • Capability.

Our success factors are the foundation of our culture and are a key component to ensuring high performance and better health outcomes for Queenslanders.

Safe, secure and supportive workplaces

We’re committed to providing safe, secure and supportive workplaces that are free from workplace harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination. We have processes in place to support our staff in making complaints if they see or experience any of these. Our staff can also make complaints about issues relating to their employment.
