How the campaign works

Queensland Health coordinates an annual campaign to recruit interns for positions in Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) across the state.

Applications are lodged via a central online application portal which allows applicants to assign a preference to all participating hospitals from highest to lowest, number 1 being the most preferred hospital they wish to work at.

Applications for the Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway are submitted first (usually in early March) followed by the general applications.

This online application form is the only method of application. No written applications are accepted.

From the applications received via the campaign, applicants are either allocated to an intern position within a hospital (applicant group A) or participate in a merit selection process conducted by the hospital (applicant groups B-D)
