A job share arrangement is a voluntary arrangement where two or more employees jointly share the responsibilities of one full-time role. Each appointee performs the full range of tasks and duties on a part-time basis.
Access to job share arrangements for intern applicants is not guaranteed. Applicants who are interested in pursuing a job share arrangement are still subject to the ballot process.
If you are interested in job sharing you must:
- find out about job share opportunities at specific hospitals – read the facilities frequently asked questions
- contact the hospitals that you intend to apply to confirm your intention to seek a job share arrangement
- consider how you will approach absences / leave for one of the partners (including recreation leave and sick leave). The preference will be that the partner covers absences to ensure that patient care is maintained.
