Our registered dental practitioners work all across Queensland, covering the south-east corner of the state up to the tip, and west to the outback. They provide a wide range of oral health services to clients of all ages and are supported by dental assistants and dental technicians. Our patients include:

  • adults who hold a concession card (Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Queensland Seniors Card)
  • all children 4 years of age or older and who have not completed Year 10
  • children 2 to 17 years of age if they are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule
  • children who hold, or are listed as a dependent on, a valid Centrelink concession card.

We offer varied work environments in metropolitan, regional and remote areas. These include hospital, school and community-based clinics and teaching environments. Our practitioners also provide outreach services to hospitals, correctional centres, and aged care facilities.

When working for us you'll have the opportunity to work with vulnerable patient groups, supervise dental and oral health students, and mentor other practitioners.

Career options

Working with us is the perfect opportunity for clinicians to expand their skills, or for new or recent graduates to consolidate their skills. Dependent on the location, you may get to undertake dental research or interact with university academics and other educators. There may also be the opportunity for you to work alongside dental specialists and senior clinicians to further hone your individual skills.

Dental and oral health therapists, dental prosthetists and dental technicians don't have access to specialist qualifications. However, in addition to paediatric dentistry and general dental hygiene, our dental and oral health therapists may have the opportunity to:

  • provide dental therapy for adults (adult scope)
  • work in specialty areas such as paedodontics, orthodontics and periodontics if they are qualified to do so.

Our dental prosthetists, dental technicians and dental assistants may have the opportunity to work with specialists in:

  • paedodontics
  • orthodontics
  • reconstructive surgery (hospital-based units)
  • prosthodontics.
