Clinical Examination Preparation Program
The Clinical Examination Preparation Program (CEPP) is for basic physician trainees sitting the Royal Australasian College of Physicians clinical examination.
The program covers:
- the key subspecialty topics that are relevant to the clinical exam
- common mistakes in the long case and short case
- practical advice on exam preparation.
The course is an adjunct to other clinical exam preparation, for example hospital based long case and short case preparation. It doesn’t include live long or short case presentations.
In 2023 the course content will be delivered over a series of evenings and a weekend.

Recordings of the presentations will be available online up to 26 June 2023.
Catering will be provided for those attending the weekend course.
Course coordinators
The course program is developed by a committee of clinicians and coordinated by the Queensland Basic Physician Training Network.
Course costs
- $300 (GST inclusive) for Queensland Basic Physician Training Network trainees
- $400 (GST inclusive) for Queensland non-network trainees and interstate or New Zealand trainees
There is no charge for current network trainees who are registered for the 2023 DCE from the following Queensland hospitals (as of term 1, 2023):
- Bundaberg
- Cairns
- Hervey Bay
- Mackay
- Rockhampton
- Townsville

Registration
Online registration will open on Monday 20 February and close on Sunday 19 March 2023.
