Gold Coast Sexual Health

If you have symptoms, require treatment or wish to discuss your condition with a clinician, you will need to make an appointment.

 Sexual Health provides the following services

  • Treatment and testing of sexually transmissible infections (STIs)
  • HIV rapid testing (available by appointment only)
  • HIV management including access to post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP)
  • Sexual health screening
  • Chlamydia screening program (no appointment required)
  • Sexual health counselling, information, education and advice

  • Self-referral
  • Symptomatic patients are assessed by a nurse if they present without an appointment.
  • The confidentiality of a clients personal information is important. Personal information collected by Gold Coast Sexual Health Service to accurately identify individual clients will only be passed on to another entity if requested by the individual, mandated by legislation or to prevent the individual harming themselves or others.

The Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO) is the peak, non-government organisation representing Australia's community-based response to HIV/AIDS. AFAO provides leadership, information, advocacy and policy.

The National Association of People With HIV Australia (NAPWHA) is Australia's peak non-government advocacy organisation representing HIV community groups from each of Australia's states and territories.

The Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM)  is a peak organisation of health professionals in Australia and New Zealand who work in HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections. ASHM offers support to the health workforce through educational and professional activities.

The HIV Foundation Queensland is the peak HIV organisation in Queensland addressing HIV prevention, testing, treatment and stigma not only to people at-risk of HIV and people living with HIV, but across the whole-of-population.

Queensland Positive People (QPP) is a peer-based advocacy organisation which is committed to actively promoting self-determination and empowerment for all people living with HIV in Queensland.
