Senior social worker Alexa is just one of the members in our homeless outreach centre, where her and her colleagues set out on foot searching for people who are homeless and experiencing complex mental health or drug and alcohol issues within a 5km radius of Brisbane's CBD. 👣

The treating team is made up of mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists and Indigenous mental health workers, who can provide treatment by offering mental health assessments and medications.

"The best scenario is being able to provide good outcomes for these people by finding them accommodation after they have been sleeping rough, and sometimes we are able to link them back with their family who they haven't seen or spoken to in years," Alexa said. 💞

The team are looking to expand by adding a psychologist, a social worker or occupational therapist to join the team. If you are interested apply here: bit.ly/3y2aAjW #WorkforusWednesday
