Friday 31 October 2014

Queensland Health Director-General Ian Maynard attended a meeting with senior staff at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) this morning regarding their concerns about the Metro North Hospital and Health Board.

Mr Maynard said the talks had been constructive.

“I have agreed to relay the concerns of staff to the Minister and senior workforce representatives from the hospital will seek to meet with the Metro North Hospital and Health Board,” he said

“I take what they have told me very seriously and will continue to work with Metro North to resolve any issues they have.”

Mr Maynard will also meet with the acting Metro North Chief Executive and Board Chair later today.

“Effective engagement between the Board, Executive and staff will be essential in setting the future direction for the Metro North Hospital and Health Service,” he said.
