The campaign debunks many popular claims about diet, exercise, lifestyle and nutrition.

Leading a healthy lifestyle doesn’t need to be complicated, but the mixed messages and changing advice about what constitutes a healthy lifestyle have a lot of people confused – and fair enough!

Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young says this confusion hinders people making positive lifestyle changes and is something the Straight Answers campaign aims to address.

“If you’ve ever been confused by all the information out there about staying healthy, you’re not alone,” Dr Young said.

“The Healthier. Happier. Straight Answers campaign provides simple, straightforward answers to many of the conflicting messages around nutrition, physical activity and weight management.

“We know obesity is an epidemic in Queensland, and we want to ensure Queenslanders are in the best position to make the right choices for long-term health and happiness.”

“One key barrier to achieving a healthier lifestyle is poor knowledge of what healthy food and lifestyle habits are,” she said.

“It’s time to cut through the confusion and arm Queenslanders with the right information for a healthier, happier lifestyle.”

An interactive page on the Healthier. Happier. website allows users to sort fact from fiction with popular claims about diet, exercise, lifestyle and nutrition.
