Where Quitters Click

Quit HQ is the one-stop-shop for quit smoking information and support to empower Queenslanders to start their quit smoking journey and help them to quit for good. It includes quit smoking materials, resources, interactive tools, videos, program and stakeholder information, all in one location.

The issue

Smoking is still a leading cause of preventable death and disease in Queensland, despite a substantial reduction in the smoking rate over the past few decades. The number of people who smoke is still too high, with 424,000 adult daily smokers in Queensland in 2018. A reduction in the percentage of Queenslanders who smoke daily is a key focus area of the Health and Wellbeing Strategic Framework 2017 to 2026. The Queensland smoking rate has declined from 12 per cent in 2016 to 11 per cent in 2018. As a result, more than 300,000 Queenslanders have avoided an early death. With continued efforts, the Department of Health aims to achieve the 2020 goal of reducing the smoking rate to 10 per cent.

The campaign

To support the launch of the Quit HQ website, the ‘Quit HQ, Where Quitters Click’ campaign will appear across out-of-home, digital display, social media, print, search and commercial radio. The campaign will be in market from 29 January until April 2019
