Two Queenslanders will be transported from the Northern Territory to Brisbane tomorrow after testing positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The two women, aged 54 and 55, had been evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship to Howard Springs outside of Darwin. Tonight they have tested positive to coronavirus (COVID-19) and will transported to a Brisbane hospital while they recover.

No further information about the patients is available but Queensland Health will provide an update once they have arrived in Brisbane.

There have only been five confirmed cases of the virus in Queensland so far. If you have been to China in the last 14 days and feel unwell please immediately see a doctor. Please call ahead to the GP surgery or hospital to let them know you may be infected with the novel Coronavirus.
