Queensland coronavirus update

A 57 year old woman was admitted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital Monday 24 February 2020 with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The woman is isolated and is in a stable condition.

The woman was part of the evacuation group at the facility at Howard Springs, outside of Darwin, who returned to Australia from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan.

The woman was transferred to SCUH on 24 February 2020 following her diagnosis of COVID-19.

The community can be assured that whether it’s measles, influenza or coronavirus our hospitals have strong measures in place to stop the spread of any virus.

SCUH continues to operate as normal.
