Queensland doesn't delay as NSW records case of community transmission

NSW Health has released a list of exposure sites today dating back to 30 April 2021, as one person in Sydney’s eastern suburbs tested positive to COVID-19.

Anyone in Queensland who has been to any of these exposure sites in New South Wales during the risk period identified is asked to quarantine at their home or accommodation, call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) and get a COVID-19 test as soon as possible tomorrow morning.

The NSW exposure sites list will be updated as more information comes in.

Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said it was important anyone who had been to these exposure sites goes into home quarantine.

"NSW Health has already made it clear that anyone who has been to any of those venues, should be quarantining, and not getting on flights," Dr Young said.

"We’re working closely with NSW to get a better understanding of the risk associated with this case, so as an interim measure, we’re mirroring NSW Health’s advice.

"We’ll continue to assess the situation as more information comes to hand over the next 24 hours."

Everyone is encouraged to monitor the Queensland Health interstate exposure venue lists for 14 days after they arrive to ensure no new venues have been added.

Queensland's COVID-19 total remains at 1,568, with no new cases in the past 24 hours.
