Anyone in Queensland who has been to a declared COVID-19 exposure site in New South Wales during the risk period specified is automatically required to quarantine.

NSW Health has released a list of exposure sites dating back to 27 April 2021 related to two new locally acquired cases. This list is steadily being updated as more information becomes available.

Anyone arriving in Queensland from 1am tomorrow (Friday, 7 May 2021) who has been to any of these exposure sites in New South Wales during the risk period identified will be required to undertake mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days on entering Queensland. This is in accordance with the Interstate Exposure Venues Direction.

Anyone in Queensland prior to 1am tomorrow who has been to any of these exposure sites in New South Wales during the risk period identified is asked to quarantine at their home or accommodation, call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) and get a COVID-19 test.

Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said it was important anyone who had been to these exposure sites at the specified dates and times goes into quarantine immediately.

“Our priority is, and will always be, the health and safety of Queenslanders,” Dr Young said.

“We are undertaking these measures to limit any spread of COVID-19 in the community.

“Anyone who has been to any of these venues should immediately quarantine wherever they are, and should not be getting on flights.

"We’re continuing to monitor the situation in New South Wales and will have further updates as the situation evolves,” she said.

Dr Young reminded anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should get tested, especially those who have recently been in Greater Sydney.

“Anyone who has been in Greater Sydney on or after 27 April 2021 should be monitoring closely for symptoms and getting tested immediately if they experience COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild," Dr Young said.

“If you get tested, remember you must isolate until you get a negative result.”

Queensland's COVID-19 total is currently 1,571. There are 20 active cases.

Three new cases have been reported today. All were overseas acquired and detected in hotel quarantine.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) today advised of a Queensland case of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS).

The man in his 60s is currently in a stable condition in Townsville University Hospital.
