Queensland Health is today adding another 38,500 negative tests from a private pathology provider to its Covid-19 testing numbers.

This has taken Queensland’s testing tally to 323,895.

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said at the end of May the private provider made a change to their reporting software that meant their negative tests were not automatically added to the daily count.

“Notifications of test results to patients were not impacted,” Dr Young said.

“Positive testing results were not affected.”

Since the issue was identified, Queensland Health has been working with the provider to ensure negative test results were accurately captured and could be reported automatically.

“I’d like to remind every Queenslander that if you have any Covid-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, you should get tested immediately.

“Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, lack of taste or smell and fatigue. For further advice, contact your local doctor or call 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).”

Dr Young said no new Queensland cases were identified today, with total cases remaining at 1066.
