Medical Services Home Page - Mount Isa Health Service District

Mount Isa Hospital is the major referral centre in North West Queensland. The hospital has 80 beds and a fully equipped High Dependency Unit.  The district covers an area of 300,000 square rural and remote kilometres with a population of approximately 34,000.  The districts indigenous population is approximately 22%.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Paediatrics
Psychiatry

Mount Isa Hospital receives transfers from outlying centres via the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) and if necessary refers on to the tertiary centre of Townsville.

The District Health Service has strong links with the Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MICRRH).
