Nursing and Midwifery Research Fellowships

The Nursing and Midwifery Research Fellowships (NMRF) program supports nurses and midwives to improve health outcomes for Queenslanders through research that:

  • enhances the value of the professions through discipline specific research,
  • promotes innovative healthcare through evidence-based nursing and midwifery practice and new models of care, and
  • contributes to the advancement of nursing and midwifery policy and education.

Three of our newest Nursing and Midwifery Research Fellowships recipients provide insight into their funded research projects.

A/Prof Pauline Calleja (NMRF R6) - Improving intravenous catheter selection to reduce extravasations for children: an implementation study across paediatric health contexts.

Dr Margaret MacAndrew (NMRF R6) - An early warning system of acute deterioration in residential aged care.

David McIntyre (NMRF R6) - Testing the validity and feasibility of the McIntyre audit tool (MAT 26).
