Mental Health Services, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital
The Inner North Brisbane Mental Health Service provides acute assessment and treatment services to people with mental disorders and serious mental health problems living in the inner northern suburbs of Brisbane.
The Inner North Brisbane Mental Health Service incorporates the following services:
Acute Care Team
The Acute Care Team provides assessment and acute treatment services. They are responsible for the acute assessment area (Psychiatric Emergency Centre) based in the Emergency Department, the Community Assessment Service and the Mobile After Hours Service.
Homeless Health Outreach Team
The Homeless Health Outreach Team (HHOT) provides health responses in the area of mental health, general health, alcohol and drug issues for homeless people living within a 5km radius of the General Post Office.
The HHOT has received numerous positive accolades from the various Non Government Organisations who they work along side in the homeless shelters, parks and soup kitchens.
Community Mental Health Teams
The Northern Team - provides clinical services to the northern areas of the RBWH District (population 135,000), I Ward, Mental Health Centre (25 bed inpatient unit), and Intensive case management services.
The Southern Team - provides clinical services to the southern areas of the RBWH District (population 135,000), G Ward, Mental Health Centre (25 bed inpatient unit), and Intensive case management team.
Somerset Villas is a 20 bed residential treatment and rehabilitation unit on the 'Rosemount' Campus at Windsor. The facility provides rehabilitation services for people with chronic mental disorders who cannot live unsupported in the community or require extended support and rehabilitation before returning to independent living.
