"I grew up in Mackay on a small farm my dad got after the war with an Air Force farmer's grant. When dad passed away, we moved to Brisbane where I completed my last 2 years of high school. I finished high school on a Friday, and by the next day, I was in Roma where I worked as a teller for 10 years. I always learnt what was ahead of me so I could work at a higher relief. Then I was a forklift driver for 21 years until I retired, got bored and went back to work. I've only had 3 jobs in my life!"

Hope you are feeling better soon James ♥️♥️
Get well soon James
Hope you are on the mend soon James.
Nurse Goleta and Jamie at RBWH came up with the idea of new inpatient meal tray placemats – designed to ensure our patients can get their meals as quickly and efficiently as possible!
With tables sometimes filling up with patient bits and pieces that need to be moved when meals arrive, the placemats offer a timely reminder to keep that section of the table clear as well as a QR code for placing an order or leaving mealtime feedback.
The food services team love hearing from patients about how they enjoy the food and what they’d like more of, with patients now able to share their thoughts more easily than ever.

Jodie Huntley-Forde love the idea of adding QR for feedback. Does TPCH still have keep clear placemats?
Great idea…. Maybe they can come up with a new idea for those ugly old plate covers and better yet…maybe new meal options 🤷♀️
Is this something that can be printed from the intranet to be used in other metro north hospitals Metro North Health?
Low fat plant based 👍🏼🌱
Still crap food choices for transplant recipients, and food arrives cold. Or you order and it doesn’t turn up.
The community of Bribie Island can expect closer-to-home cancer care services at the new Bribie Island Satellite Hospital. 🙌
When the facility opens, the space will offer six chairs available to give supportive treatments for many types of cancer, as well as some less toxic anti-cancer treatments.
Cancer Care NUM Joyce, who is currently at RBWH, is looking forward to having more cancer care treatment facilities across Metro North.
"It’s very exciting for the community of Bribie Island to be able to access this kind of care closer to home, for those who can be treated at Bribie Island, it certainly will save them a great deal of time with the benefits of reduced travel," Joyce said. 🥰

Of all the traditions and lore associated with Saint Patrick’s Day, one has always stood out: the story of how Saint Patrick drove all of Ireland’s snakes into the sea. 🐍🍀
Ireland is one of the few places on Earth where snakes can’t be found in the wild, but for us here in Australia we have plenty of snake variations, and RBWH emergency consultant Dr Jake and pharmacist Shannon are on hand with antivenom in the case of a bite!
"In the emergency department in a locked cabinet, we carry antivenom for brown snake, tiger snake, and polyvalent snake which can be used to treat several venoms," Shannon said.
"After assessing the patient, and blood tests, we determine which antivenom is suited best."

Excellent segway, Metro North Health 👏🏻
And Shannon makes an outstanding soda bread.
We are proud to have you!😊
Happy St Patrick’s Day ☘️
