Cancer Care Services, Redcliffe Hospital
The Cancer Care Services at Redcliffe Hospital is located on the 6th floor of the main building in the east wing. The oncology service was established in approximately 1995, and offers a wide range of services for both medical oncology and haematology patients. We are staffed with 2 oncology consultants, 2 visiting haematology consultants, 2 visiting radiation oncologists, 2 registrars, 1 resident, a trained team of senior nursing staff and specialised allied health professionals, and on site access to surgeons and palliative care consultants.
We currently operate Monday to Friday and are open from 7.30 am to 5.30pm.
Our aim is to provide holistic care focusing on both your emotional and physical wellbeing. We strongly encourage the support and input of close family and friends and we endeavour to provide a personal and friendly service.
Redcliffe Hospital Cancer Care Services provides the following services:
- Haematology outpatient clinics and treatment
- Medical Oncology outpatient clinics and treatment
- Palliative Care Outpatient clinics and chemotherapy
- Radiation Oncology outpatient clinics
RBWH provide haematology and radiation oncology services to Redcliffe Cancer Care Services. The service does not treat patients requiring radiation oncology, only outpatient clinics are provided on site at Redcliffe Hospital. These patients are referred to the RBWH Cancer Care Centre for their treatment. The majority of Head and Neck referrals are also directed to RBWH.
The major diagnoses presenting are:
- Lung (non-small cell)
The service accepts patient referrals from GP’s, Redcliffe Hospital Surgeons and Physicians, Caboolture Hospital Surgeons and Physicians, medical officers from other public hospitals and private specialists. The Cancer Care Services is the central referrals service for all referrals for haematology, radiation oncology and medical oncology for Redcliffe Hospital.
