Meet your career navigators.

Your QRGP support team is a group of senior experienced rural medical advisors and administrators who work in consultation with leading training partners. On our team you’ll find practising Rural Generalists, Staff Specialists, past Directors of Clinical Training and senior rural medical academics from Queensland universities who support and advise all trainees. We are passionate and dedicated to preparing you for the adventure and challenge of life as a Rural Generalist and we look forward to working with you. Find out more about our team below.

Dr John Douyere

John is the QRGP Medical Director with over 20 years experience as a Rural Generalist with obstetric and anaesthetic advanced skills.

Dr Michael Clements

Michael commenced his studies at Sydney University through the RAAF Graduate Medical Scheme.

Dr Prue Dawson

Prue grew up in the Wide Bay region and spent her childhood weekends on the family dairy farm outside of Biggenden.

Dr James Telfer

James is a Rural Generalist Senior Medical Officer at Stanthorpe Hospital. He graduated from Flinders University in 2003.

Dr Leanne Browning

Leanne grew up in rural Queensland south of Mackay near Sarina and Carmilla.

Professor Tarun Sen Gupta

Tarun is Professor of Health Professional Education and Head of the Townsville Clinical School at the James Cook University College of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr Natasha Coventry

Natasha is currently Director Medical Services – East, Torres & Cape Hospital and Health Service based in Cooktown Hospital.

Dr Felicity Constable

Felicity is based in the beautiful garden city of Toowoomba, working as a general practitioner and as the Senior Clinical Editor for Darling Downs Healthpathway.

Dr Claudia Collins

Claudia is a Senior Medical Officer and Lead Clinician at Yulu-Burri-Ba , based on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), caring for and working with the Quandamooka People of the Bayside region.

Dr Cameron Bardsley

Cameron is a Rural Generalist Senior Medical Officer at St George hospital where his practice includes secondary care, anaesthetics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine and outreach clinics, along with private General Practice.

Dr Michael Hurley

Dr Michael Hurley is a Rural Generalist working in Beaudesert. Mike enjoys an interesting clinical mix of primary and secondary care, and has a passion for Rural General Practice Education and Training.

Dr Jaime Hurley

Dr Jaime Hurley is a Rural Generalist working in Beaudesert, South-East Queensland. Jaime trained as a Rural Generalist with Advanced Skills in Obstetrics and has a passion for medical education.

Dr Ebonney van der Meer

Dr Ebonney van der Meer is a Rural Generalist working in General Practice on Magnetic Island. Ebonney was a former QRGP trainee and knows first-hand the challenges and rewards of life as a Rural Generalist. She has a passion for supporting trainees through every aspect of their journey.

Dr Josephine Pearson

Dr Josephine Pearson is a Rural Generalist working in St George, South West Queensland. Josephine trained as a Rural Generalist with Advanced Skills in Obstetrics and enjoys her broad scope of clinical practice across primary and secondary care.
