The next steps

Successful applicants enter an exclusive ballot process to gain priority access to intern training positions within the Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway. This ballot takes place before Queensland Health's general intern recruitment campaign and ballot so you can still participate in that process if you are unsuccessful in your application to us.

Information is power. We give you as much information as possible about the ballot and preferencing process before the ballot takes place to arm you with the knowledge to make strategic choices. You will be able to see how many positions are available at each Rural Generalist Training Hospital and the number of interns preferencing those positions.

The Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway is a highly selective, flexible program, offering interns a diverse, challenging and fast-tracked career pathway. By accepting an offer for a Rural Generalist Intern training position and participating in our ballot process, you forego the opportunity to take part in the General Intern Ballot.

Those interested in postgraduate entry opportunities can find more information here.
