The Sunshine Coast University Hospital will have about 1000m2 of retail space. This provides opportunities for both food and non-food related retail within the public hospital in line with Queensland Health’s objectives to service staff and visitors to the facility. Retail outlets have been located in the design for convenience and maximum amenity to staff, students, patients and visitors and will operate seven days a week.

On 1 June 2015 Exemplar Health issued an initial Expression of Interest (EOI) for retail outlets at the SCUH. This EOI closed on 31 August 2015. Retail opportunities exist for a range of uses across the facility, including coffee, food court operators, cafes, pharmacy, giftware, convenience store and more. A staff gym with onsite personal trainers and a 100-place child care centre is also being provided.

Expressions of Interest were received via the ICN Gateway and ICN has assembled all submission information and registration responses into a report that has been forwarded to Exemplar Health and their leasing agent CBRE. Exemplar Health and CBRE will select a shortlist and selected interested parties will be invited to participate further in the process.
