Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is part of Queensland Health's network of 16 Hospital and Health Services.
SCHHS delivers public healthcare throughout the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region, including:
- Nambour General Hospital
- Caloundra Hospital
- Gympie Hospital
- Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital
- a range of community health services from 24 sites at Nambour, Maroochydore, Gympie, Noosaville, Caloundra, Kawana, Tewantin, Cooroy, Mountain Creek, Buderim, Beerwah, Tin Can Bay and Mooloolaba
- services provided to public patients at Noosa Private Hospital.
The new Sunshine Coast University Hospital at Kawana will open in April 2017 with about 450 beds, with capacity to grow to a 738 bed facility. When the new public tertiary teaching hospital opens it will form part of the network of services provided by SCHHS, focussing on tertiary services for Sunshine Coast and Gympie residents.
