Alpha Hospital

icon Alpha provides 24-hours a day, seven days a week ambulance and emergency care. It also provides a multipurpose health service.
icon A visiting general practitioner holds a medical clinic every Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and Saturday mornings.
icon Alpha can provide financial assistance through the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme to eligible patients who need to travel away to other health services for procedures and tests not available locally.
icon Home and Community Care services are available for eligible clients. This service is managed by the Barcaldine Regional Council.
icon Some visiting allied health and community services include dental, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, community health, diversional therapy, women's health, child health, mental health and a diabetic educator (provided by the Medicare Local).
icon The community of Alpha has access to two doctors, with one staying overnight for two full days each week.
icon The existing health facility at Alpha is expected to be replaced with a brand new facility during 2015. Costings and plans are still to be finalised.
icon Telehealth services available for linking with other facilities via video-conference for patients.
