Sarina Hospital and Primary Health Care Centre
Sarina is a 16-bed hospital that provides emergency care, outpatients, general
sub-acute admissions, palliative care, and voluntary elective alcohol detoxification to the Sarina township and surrounding communities.
The Sarina Hospital is undergoing a $2.6 million upgrade that includes a new roof and guttering, painting and upgrade of fire and electrical systems.
Mackay Child Health visits weekly to assess child development and provide advice and guidance to parents and caregivers.
Telehealth services are available to link patients with specialists in other areas. There are more consultations for cancer services, palliative care and orthopaedics taking place through Telehealth.
The Mental Health and Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Service visits weekly to run clinics to support consumers at the Sarina Hospital.
A physiotherapist provides a follow-up outpatients’ service to ensure patients continue to receive support after leaving hospital.
The Sarina Hospital’s Extended Midwifery Service provides a low-risk midwife antenatal clinic and postnatal care which includes Mums and Bubs home visits to support new families.
