icon Charleville Hospital has been classified as a rural hospital, under new guidelines for rural and remote health facilities that are being introduced progressively across the state.
icon The Charleville Hospital is a 24-bed facility that provides 24-hour acute and emergency care, including maternity and theatre services, plus retrievals with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
icon The hospital currently is undergoing a $5.3 million upgrade and refurbishment program that also includes the replacement of ageing water piping. These works are expected to be completed by August 2015.
icon Charleville Hospital employs senior medical officers who operate a general practice outpatients clinic and provide inpatient and emergency care.
icon The medical imaging department has a licensed radiographer and X-ray operators with an on-call service for after-hours emergencies. Basic ultrasound services are available.
icon Specialist surgical, obstetrics and gynaecology services are delivered to Charleville Hospital through the flying surgeon and the flying obstetrician/gynaecologist, who visit the facility every three weeks and in some emergency situations.
icon A suite of community and allied health services are available, including a cardiology clinic, alcohol and drugs, child development, diabetes education, dental, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology.

A $3.3 million upgrading and refurbishment program is underway at Charleville Hospital, as part of a $51.58 million state-wide rural hospital rectification works program due for completion by January 2015.

Up to $2 million is being spent on upgrading ageing water piping at Charleville Hospital, with completion expected by January 2015, along with the other capital works at the hospital.
