Commencement of placement
Adhere to the Education Provider and the SCHHS Uniform, dress standards and personal presentation procedure.
Student photo identification name badge always needs to be visible while on placement.
Always allow enough time for parking/walking to the facility ensuring you arrive on time.
The SCHHS is not responsible for parking fees incurred by students.
Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH)
If you are driving, you will need to park in the visitor parking. There is a charge for parking.

Nambour General Hospital
Nambour General Hospital has a multistorey public car park located at the rear of the hospital.
The car park can be accessed by turning left at the Blood Bank on Hospital Road and is open seven days a week. Fees and charges apply. If you choose to use free road-side parking, please note: Car parking spaces within close proximity to the hospital have a 3-hour parking limited. Fines apply for parking after this period.
Caloundra, Maleny, Glenbrook, Gympie and Community Sites

Student SCUH Proximity Card (applicable only for students located at SCUH)
You will need to show evidence of your completed mandatory (LMS and iLearn) training transcript to the security office staff (SCUH ground floor) to obtain a proximity card.
Sunshine Coast Health Institute (SCHI) students will have general hospital access assigned to their current card for the term of placement, once all mandatory training requirements are up to date. This card is to be retained by the student for future access to the SCHI building.
At the end of the placement, if the card has your name on it, you should keep the card. If it does not have your name written on it please return it to the security desk.

On your first day in your ward / unit, you will be taken through a general evacuation instruction exercise.
