Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is committed to engaging with consumers and the community to have a greater say in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of our hospital and health services, and so contribute to more efficient and effective healthcare delivery.

Consumer and community engagement allows us to: 

  • Better plan, design and deliver services that meet the needs of the people who use them.
  • Improve the safety, quality and accessibility of our health services.
  • Gather feedback about programs, services, initiatives and reforms.
  • Empower local communities to have a voice in service planning, design and delivery.

Through engagement, people are empowered to contribute to the development of health policies, programs, services and projects.  It allows people to have their say and get involved in the business of delivering health services.
