Environmental Health
Environmental health is a key component of public health with environmental health officers who utilise regulatory and non-regulatory interventions to protect individuals and the community from potential harm or illness caused by exposures to hazards, diseases and harmful practices. Environmental health has responsibilities in food safety and standards, medicines, poisons and pest management, tobacco control, water quality, mosquito borne diseases, environmental hazards, communicable disease prevention and control and emergency management.
Queensland Health’s Industry and environmental health page provides more information and resources for both consumers and businesses.
