Queensland Government Procurement Policy requirements
The Queensland Government, through the Queensland Procurement Policy, is committed to maximising benefits for Queenslanders by using procurement to support local jobs and businesses to drive economic, environmental and social outcomes. This includes ensuring quality, safe workplaces for people engaged on major state government projects, through the implementation of Best Practice Principles (BPPs) for projects valued over $100 million (BPP Projects).
Prequalification
Building contractors seeking to work on government building projects valued at more than $1 million must first be prequalified through Queensland’s whole-of-government Prequalification System (PQC).
Head contractors, including managing contractors directly engaged by the Queensland Government and subcontractors directly engaged by a head contractor to deliver a trade package, who want to work on Best Practice Principle (BPP) projects need to be prequalified.
Building consultants may be required to be prequalified through Queensland’s whole-of-government Prequalification System (PQC) for government building project commissions above certain values.
