Public consultation

Community engagement was undertaken as part of the Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) process for each site. The MID process provides an alternative to lodging a development application with the relevant local government and is managed by the department with input from other government agencies.

Two phases of community engagement were undertaken:

• Phase one: Preliminary engagement (for 10-15 days) with targeted key stakeholder groups.
• Phase two: Formal public notification and engagement (for 20 days) with the broader community and interested stakeholder groups.

Feedback from both consultation phases informed the MIDs lodged with the Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning.

Bribie Island Satellite Hospital

The Bribie Island Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2021. The site is approximately 6.1 hectares and is located at 65-101 First Avenue, Bongaree QLD 4507.

Caboolture Satellite Hospital

The Caboolture Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2021. The site is approximately 1.5 hectares and is located at 15 Rowe Street, Caboolture QLD 4510.

Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital

The Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2022. The site is approximately 1.5 hectares and is located at 59 Levington Road, Eight Mile Plains QLD 4113.

Kallangur Satellite Hospital

The Kallangur Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2021. The site is approximately 1.5 hectares and is located at 159-163 Dohles Rocks Road, Kallangur QLD 4503. This is within the Mill Priority Development Area (PDA).

The Redlands Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2021. The site is approximately 1.4 hectares and is located at 22-28 Meissner Street, Redland Bay QLD 4165. This is within the Weinam Creek Priority Development Area (PDA).

Ripley Satellite Hospital

The Ripley Satellite Hospital site was announced in June 2021. The site is approximately 2.7 hectares and is located at 150 Botany Drive, South Ripley QLD 4306. This is within the Ripley Priority Development Area (PDA) and is earmarked as a health-related precinct within the Ripley Valley Master Plan.
