Cancer Screening Strategic Framework 2019 to 2026

The Cancer Screening Strategic Framework 2019 to 2026 (PDF 271 kB) provides a prevention and early detection pathway for improved cancer outcomes for Queenslanders. The framework focuses on increasing participation in the three national cancer screening programs (i.e., breast, bowel and cervical) and ensuring timely, safe and high-quality health service provision across the entire participant screening pathway.

Goal

To reduce morbidity and mortality from breast, bowel and cervical cancer for eligible Queenslanders.

The framework supports the Department of Health’s strategic objective – in particular, to promote and protect the health of Queenslanders.

The Department will partner with the Commonwealth, other government departments, primary health care, non-government organisations, community and tertiary education sector to identify, deliver and monitor progress of actions over the next 10 years.
