The Ingham Health Service is located 110 kilometres north of Townsville, situated in the Herbert River Valley in tropical North Queensland.
The Ingham Hospital is a 28-bed inpatient facility with an accident and emergency and general surgery services. It is a level 3 facility under the Services Capability Framework (2010).
The hospital provides the community with various services including immunisations, well-women's clinics, pathology-sample collection, basic radiography, weekly ultrasounds and pharmaceuticals. We also have a midwifery group practice providing continuity of individualised antenatal and post-natal care by a known midwife to the women of the Ingham region.
The hospital also provides outreach services including respiratory medicine, psychiatry, mental health, paediatrics, surgery and endoscopy with referral mechanisms in place for those patients who require tertiary care.
